Several projects are underway, but are pretty low priority time-wise.
- Remote sensor. Measures two 12V sensor inputs (digital on/off) and ambient temperature.
Communicates with remote inquiry source using RS-485.
(RS-485 is a single pair, differential, bidirectional serial communications hardware standard.)
- Display. Gathers data from remote sensor(s) using RS-485 hardware and software polling protocol.
First usage would be for measuring speed and fuel injector modulation to calculate and display miles per gallon consumption rate.
Intended to fit a 1" x 2" available panel space on one of my existing vehicles, which due to a manufacturer
software bug does not deliver the data needed for commercial MPG indicators (1998 Ford Ranger).
- LED flasher for fake alarm indicator. Flashes an LED when ignition power is off. Low power consumption.
